Planning at the playgroup is based mainly around the children’s needs and interests as well as seasonal celebrations.
Topics for Term 4
Week beginning 22nd February
During this week we will be creating craft work ‘inspired’ by Dinosaurs.
Week beginning 1st March
This week we will be asking children about their Favourite Book. They can bring in their book or just tell us the name of it for ‘Show & Tell’
Week beginning 8th March
The children will be making things for ‘Mother’s Day’.
Week beginning 15th March
This week we will be focusing on Spring and Growth. Can all Rising 5’s children bring in an item of clothing they wore when they were smaller.
Week beginning 22nd March
We will be creating items and gifts for Easter.
Week beginning 29th March
This is a FLEXI 3 days where the children can choose the activities. The playgroup closes for the Easter holidays on Wednesday 31st March and return on Monday 19th April.
The learning matters for this term are as follows:
Creative development: Begin to construct, stacking blocks etc with large materials – Mega blocks, cardboard & fabric.
Problem solving, reasoning & numeracy: Know that a group of things changes in quantity when something is added or taken away.
Knowledge & understanding of the world: Talk about the past and future events.
Physical development: Observe the effects of activity on their bodies.
Communication, language and literacy: Use talk, actions & objects to recall & relive past experiences.
Personal, social and emotional development : Talk freely about their home and community.
